Paramount Hotel Debuts Multimillion-Dollar Refurbishment of their Guest Rooms and Corridors, and Café
(New York, NY; March 4, 2019) Paramount Hotel (235 W 46th Street), a historic landmark property, today announces it is near completion of an extensive multimillion-dollar refurbishment that includes upgrades to its guest rooms and corridors, as well as the introduction of a new dining concept. Originally built in 1927 during the height of Times Square development and later renovated by Philippe Starck in the 1980s, the hotel has long served as a symbol of the district’s evolution. The rooms and amenities at Paramount provide guests with a fresh experience that both reflects and propels Times Square’s current transformation.
“Paramount’s renewal is pivotal in heralding Times Square’s next golden era,” said Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Thomas Hines. “As the neighborhood evolves and continues to reinforce its reputation as the center of the universe—a thriving destination for culture and commerce—our new rooms and offerings enable guests to fully appreciate the authentic New York experience they remember or imagine. Whether they’re returning to Manhattan or arriving for the first time, travelers are immediately immersed in the energy of the city. These updates give them the comfort of uncluttered accommodations plus the added convenience of advanced in-room technologies and casual to-go food options, so they can make the most of their time.”
Guest room refurbishments include slate carpeting, a serene paint palette, and a complete ceiling re-finishing for an elevated sense of spaciousness. Enhanced LED lighting and HVAC equipment has been installed for an optimal and more efficient in-room atmosphere. WiFi systems were improved to ensure faster connections, and new 43-inch flat screen TVs allow guests to cast directly from their personal devices. Beds feature plush pillow-top mattresses lined with Egyptian cotton sheets, while upgraded blackout shades dim the bright lights of Broadway at night. Furthermore, guest doors are outfitted with cutting-edge RFID keyless entry locks—the safest, most secure form of room entry available today. Additionally, new carpeting, wall coverings, and enhanced LED lighting are also being installed in the guest corridors. A selection of all-new artwork has been curated for the hotel’s public areas. Additionally, the elevator lobby will feature artisanal millwork that nods to the hotel’s original architecture. Guest room and corridor finishes will be completed by April 2019.
In addition to the guest room and corridor refurbishment, the Paramount Hotel has recently launched the Paramount Café which offers grab and go fare throughout the day. The café is adjacent to the lobby and opens daily at 7am. Continental breakfast items include freshly baked pastries, muffins, a variety of juices, coffee, and tea. Those seeking something quick for lunch or dinner may select from chef-prepared sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and gourmet snacks. An ATM is conveniently located onsite. In the evening, full bar service is offered. Paramount Café extends to a streamlined co-working space, open 24 hours, where guests may utilize state-of-the-art iMac computers, and a lively game room furnished with a billiards table, table football, shuffleboard, and four 70-inch TVs.
